Bubble Bread 1 Recipe
- 1 c. scalded lowfat milk
- 1/2 c. oil
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 x cakes yeast
- 2 x Large eggs, beaten
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 1 stk butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. minced nuts
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. raisins, optional
- Mix the lowfat milk, oil, sugar and salt together and cold to lukewarm.
- Crumble into the mix.
- Crumble the yeast into the mix.
- Add in the Large eggs and flour.
- Mix to soft dough.
- Turn out onto floured board and knead till smooth and elastic and not sticky.
- Place in greased bowl.
- Cover with a damp cloth.
- Let rise till double in bulk.
- Punch down and let rest for 10 min.
- Heat the butter in small pan.
- Mix together the sugar, minced nuts, cinnamon and raisins.
- Make dough into small balls (size of walnuts).
- Roll each one in butter, then in the sugar mix.
- Place in greased angel food cake pan in staggered rows and layers till all your dough is used.
- Let rise, then bake at 350 degrees about 45 min.
- Turn out onto plate.
- Don't cut to serve; just pull off a bubble.
