As-Is Orange Jelly

  1. Cut a bit off of the bottom of the oranges.
  2. When removing the insides, cutting the bottom makes it more difficult to gouge.
  3. Scoop out the insides with a spoon etc.
  4. Be careful not to gouge out!
  5. This is what they look cleanly scooped.
  6. Measure 300 ml of freshly squeezed juice.
  7. Make up with 100% juice when there is not enough.
  8. Add powdered kanten to the water.
  9. Over medium heat, bring kanten to a boil while stirring, add sugar, and dissolve.
  10. Add the orange juice from Step 4 once kanten liquid has cooled, and mix well.
  11. Place the orange on top of a pudding mold or the equivalent to stabilize.
  12. Gently pour in the kanten liquid from Step 6.
  13. It will sink as it solidifies, so it looks prettier when finished if you fill it to the brim.
  14. Let it sit as is until it solidifies a bit, and then chill in the fridge to solidify.
  15. This is what it looks like when it solidifies.
  16. If you cut it into wedges, then you will have orange jello!
