Sirloin Tips And Noodles Recipe
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 pound sirloin tip, trimmed and cut into 1 inch cubes
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 pound fresh mushrooms, rinsed and sliced
- 1 med. onion, minced
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 can beef consomme, undiluted (10 1/2 ounce.)
- 1/2 c. dry red wine
- 1 tbsp. parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- Dash paprika
- Dash garlic pwdr
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Warm buttered noodles
- In brown paper bag, combine flour, salt and pepper; shake beef in bag till well coated.
- Set aside.
- In large kettle heat butter, add in coated beef cubes and brown thoroughly on all sides; stirring frequently, about 15 min.
- Add in mushrooms, onion and lemon juice; cook, stirring frequently, about 5 min.
- Add in consomme, red wine, parsley, basil, mustard, ginger, paprika and garlic pwdr, and stir till well mixed.
- Add in salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover and simmer over medium low heat about 1 1/2 hrs, or possibly till meat is tender.
- Serve over warm buttered noodles.
