Chili Con Turkey Recipe
- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 c. minced onion
- 1 c. minced celery
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 1/4 lbs. grnd turkey
- 1 (15 ounce.) can tomato sauce
- 2 teaspoon grnd cumin
- 1 (15 ounce.) can pinto or possibly red kidney beans
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 teaspoon mild chili pwdr
- 1.
- In medium skillet over low heat, heat oil and saute/fry onion, celery and garlic till onion is golden brown.
- Add in turkey.
- Raise heat to medium and saute/fry till turkey is no longer pink.
- Stir to break up meat into small pcs.
- 2.
- Add in tomato sauce, chili pwdr and cumin; stir.
- Bring to boil, reduce to low, cover and simmer 20 min.
- Stir occasionally.
- 3.
- Fold in beans, salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover and simmer 30 min longer.
- Rest 5 min before serving.
- Top with chopped onion and grated Cheddar cheese.
- Serve with crackers or possibly over plain white rice.
