4th Of July Jello Cake Recipe

  1. To prepare the spicy Jello, combine 16 ounces blue Jello with 1/2 oz Tabasco brand Pepper Sauce.
  2. Combine 16 ounces red Jello with 1/2 oz Tabasco brand Pepper Sauce.
  3. Hold both colors separate.
  4. Don't chill.
  5. To assemble each cake, slice one angel food cake into 3 equal slices horizontally.
  6. Top the bottom layer with 8 ounces of the reserved spicy blue Jello.
  7. Top the middle layer with 8 ounces reserved red Jello.
  8. Chill at least 6 hrs till Jello is hard.
  9. Once the layers are hard, spread 1 oz of whipped cream over the bottom and center layer and place layers on top of one another.
  10. Top with a final layer of cake.
  11. Cut cake into 6 slices.
  12. Repeat for second cake.
  13. For each serving, place one slice of cake on a plate.
  14. Top with fresh whipped cream.
  15. Garnish with fresh berries.
  16. This recipe yields 12 servings.
