Baby Food Pear Papaya Puree

  1. Peel, core, and chop the pears into uniform pieces (this way they cook evenly).
  2. Then slice the papayas lengthwise, scoop out the seeds, and scoop out the flesh.
  3. If its ripe enough, you shouldnt have to chop the papaya fruit too much; itll cook just fine.
  4. Add the chopped fruit (and nutmeg if you so choose) to a medium-sized pot and put in just enough water so you dont cover the fruit.
  5. Turn on the heat to medium-medium high and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes.
  6. You want the fruit soft, but not mush.
  7. Depending on how ripe your fruit is, it may only take 3-4 minutes, so just keep an eye on it.
  8. When its the desired consistency, remove the pot from the heat and spoon the fruit into a blender or food processor.
  9. Add just a little bit of the cooking water to the bottom so itll be smooth (you may need to add a bit more as you go so its not too thick, depending on the age of your baby).
  10. When done, allow to come to room temperature and spoon into ice cube trays and freeze.
  11. When completely frozen, remove from the trays and place into a labeled Ziploc baggie and keep in the freezer.
  12. Simply remove, and put 1-2 cubes in a bowl and microwave till piping hot (1 minute usually does it for me).
  13. Allow to cool and feed to your baby!
