Beef Steaks Jamaican With Mango Salsa Recipe
- This recipe calls for a beef cut -- chuck-eye steak - which's new to the meat case.
- 1 1/2 lb boneless beef chuck-eye steak, cut 1 inch thick (4 steaks)
- 2 Tbsp. dry Caribbean jerk seasoning
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 Tbsp. lime juice Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 x mangoes, diced
- 1/2 c. minced green bell pepper
- 1 Tbsp. minced fresh cilantro
- 1 1/2 tsp dry Caribbean jerk seasoning
- Place steaks in a re-seal-able plastic bag or possibly glass dish.
- Combine 2 Tbsp.
- jerk seasoning, oil, lime juice, salt and pepper; pour over steaks.
- Seal the bag or possibly cover the dish and marinate in refrigerator for 1 to 6 hrs, turning occasionally.
- Remove steaks from marinade and place on grid over medium coals.
- Grill 14 to 20 min for medium-rare (135 degrees F) to medium (145 degrees F), turning once.
- To make salsa: While steaks are grilling, combine mangoes, green pepper, cilantro and 1 1/2 tsp.
- jerk seasoning, tossing lightly.
- Serve steaks with salsa.
