Meat Borscht Recipe

  1. Combine water and meat bones in saucepan.
  2. Boil and skim water.
  3. Add in beets, onions, garlic and salt.
  4. Cover and cook over medium heat for 2 hrs.
  5. Add in brown sugar and lemon juice.
  6. Cook 30 min.
  7. Taste and correct seasoning.
  8. Serves 8-10.
  9. This recipe is reputed to be "Cousin Ghenia's" recipe, who was renowned for her famous borscht.
