Oatmeal Cake

• 1 1/4 cups water boiling
• 1 cup oatmeal
• 1/2 cup margarine
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 each eggs
• 1 1/2 cups flour, all-purpose
• 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1/4 teaspoon cloves

1. Pour boiling water over oatmeal let stand 20 minutes.
2. Beat margarine until creamy.
3. Gradually add sugars and beat until fluffy.
4. Blend in vanilla and eggs.
5. Add oats to mixture and flour and spices.
6. Bake in 9 inch square pan for 50 to 55 minutes.
