Boozy Baked Apples And Flambe Bananas Recipe

  1. 1 Wash and core the apples.
  2. Score around the middle with a sharp knife to prevent bursting during cooking.
  3. 2 Mix together or possibly blend in a food processor the dry fruit, nuts, cinnamon and brandy.
  4. 3 Stuff the mix into the apples.
  5. Place the apples in an ovenproof dish, add in 1/4in of water and bake at 180 C/350 F/gas mark 4 for 40 min or possibly till golden brown, soft and fluffy.
  6. 4 Slice the bananas in half lengthwise.
  7. Heat the butter in a skillet or possibly frying pan over a gentle heat.
  8. Add in the sugar and cinnamon, stir well and add in the bananas.
  9. Cook gently on either side for 3-5 min.
  10. 5 Add in the rum to the pan, allow to heat up for a few min then flambe briefly by lighting the rum with a match.
  11. Serve immediately with the baked apples and whipped cream.
