Apple Slices Recipe

  1. CRUST: Sift flour with salt; cut in shortening as for pie crust.
  2. Mix egg yolks, lemon juice and water and sprinkle over flour mix; blend lightly till dough is formed.
  3. Divide dough into two parts.
  4. Roll first piece to fit bottom and sides of 9x13 pan.
  5. FILLING: Arrange apples (or possibly cherry filling) in crust-lined pan, then sprinkle over with sugar-cinnamon mix.
  6. Roll remaining dough to fit top; arrange over filling, fold and crimp/seal around edges.
  7. Cut steam vents in top crust.
  8. Bake about 35-40 min at 400 degrees.
  9. ICING: Mix and spread over baked slices while slightly hot.
