Lo Fat; Lo Cal; Sausage, Garlic & Mushroom Pizza Recipe
- 6 ounce. Italian flavor turkey sausage
- Vegetable cooking spray
- 4 c. fresh mushrooms, finely minced (about 12 ounce.)
- 1/2 c. diced onion
- 6 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1/4 c. evaporated skim lowfat milk
- 3 tbsp. minced fresh parsley
- 1/2 c. (2 ounce.) shredded provolone cheese
- 1 whole wheat pizza crust (12")
- 1/4 c. grated fresh Romano cheese
- Cook turkey sausage in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat till browned, stirring to crumble.
- Drain, pat dry with paper towels.
- Set aside.
- Coat a skillet with cooking spray.
- Place over medium high heat till warm.
- Add in mushrooms, onion and garlic.
- Cook 7 min or possibly till liquid evaporates.
- Add in lowfat milk and parsley.
- Cook on additional 2 min.
- Sprinkle provolone cheese over prepared crust, leaving a 1/2 inch border.
- Spread mushroom mix proportionately over cheese and top with turkey sausage.
- Sprinkle Romano cheese over pizza.
- Bake at 500 degrees for 12 min on bottom rack of oven.
- Remove to a cutting board and let stand 5 min.
- Makes 6 servings.
- (About 247 calories each and 8.1 grams of fat each, including crust.)
