Chinese Beef Steak (Household Miso Beef)
- 200 grams Beef
- 1 dash Lettuce
- 1 tbsp Ginger (grated)
- 1 tbsp Garlic (grated)
- 2 pieces Star anise
- 40 kernels Szechuan pepper
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Lao-cho soy sauce (you can use the same amount of regular soy sauce if unavailable)
- 1 tsp Chicken stock granules
- 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
- 1 tsp Vinegar
- 1 Fresh coriander
- Put the ingredients and the beef in a bowl, and leave to marinate for 20 minutes.
- Spread vegetable oil in a frying pan, and cook the meat.
- Add the dressing from Step 1 after the meat has cooked through, heat, and it is done.
- Cook to your desired doneness.
- Add the meat from Step 2 on top of the plates spread with lettuce.
- Eat together with Chinese cabbage if you like.
