Indian Pudding

  1. Heat oven to 300 degrees .
  2. Grease 2 quart ovenproof casserole.
  3. Mix cornmeal, sugar and spices.
  4. Heat 3 cups milk and molasses in medium size pot.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients into hot mixture.
  6. Add butter.
  7. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened (about 10 minutes or so).
  8. Pour into casserole.
  9. Gently pour remaining cup of milk over the pudding; do not stir.
  10. Bake uncovered for 3 hours.
