Beef Barbecue Sticks Recipe
- 1 lb top round 1/8" to 1/4" thick by 1 1/2" to 3 1/2" strips
- 6 x bamboo skewers
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 c. 7-up or possibly sprite
- 1 x clove garlic chopped
- From the Philipines.
- The advantage of this recipe is which is can be done a day in advance.
- The meat should marinate for at least 1 1/2 hrs for an intense flavor.
- If less time is allowed, the flavor will be obvious but less intense.
- Skewer 2 beef strips as flat as possible on each bamboo stick.
- Combine sugar, soy sauce, pepper, 7-Up and garlic in bowl.
- Pour proportionately over beef skewers.
- Cover and chill at least 1 1/2 hrs.
- Grill or possibly broil till marinade caramelizes at edge of meat, about 2 min per side.
