Chile Sausage Squares Recipe
- 1 c. Bisquick
- 1/3 c. lowfat milk
- 1/4 c. mayonnaise (divided)
- 1 pound pork sausage
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 c. (8 ounce.) shredded sharp cheese
- 2 (4 ounce.) cans minced green chiles (liquid removed)
- Combine Bisquick, lowfat milk and 2 tbsp.
- mayonnaise, stir well.
- Spread mix in greased 13x9x2 inch baking dish, set aside.
- Cook sausage and onion in skillet till meat is browned, stirring to crumble meat.
- Drain well between paper towels.
- Layer sausage mix over Bisquick mix.
- Combine egg, cheese and chiles; spread over sausage mix.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min.
- Let stand five min before serving.
- Yields about 40 appetizer servings or possibly 8 individual servings.
