Turkey Burger

  1. In a large bowl, add turkey, 1/4 of an onion (finely grated), cumin, chili powder and a dash of salt and pepper.
  2. Using your hands, mix it all together well because there is nothing worse than to bite into a big bite of cumin or chili powder.
  3. Form them into 1-inch thick patties that are a little larger then the bun.
  4. The ground turkey has a little bit of fat in it so it will shrink a little.
  5. Lightly salt and pepper each patty.
  6. Place patties on a piping hot nonstick pan with a 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  7. Cook for at least 5 minutes on each side.
  8. While you are cooking the burgers, in a medium-sized skillet brown remaining onion (sliced) in the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  9. Cook them until brown and tender.
  10. Once you flip the burger, add enough slices of cheddar cheese to cover it well.
  11. Cook 5 minutes on this side and then it is ready to serve.
  12. I like mine on a brioche roll toasted with butter, topped with onions.
  13. Note: I add the onions on top and mayo and mustard on my bun.
  14. That is it.
  15. Very simple and absolutely delish.
  16. I make the best hamburgers but for some reason my husband loves these even better.
  17. Try them and let me know what you think.
