Baba Garman's Icebox Dessert

  1. Whip egg whites, sugar and cream of tartar till thick like meringue.
  2. Fold in the vanilla, crushed saltines and nuts.
  3. pat into the bottom of a 13/9 greased glass baking dish and bake at 350* for 25 minutes.
  4. Cool well.
  5. When cold, top with the pie filling and Dream Whip.
  6. Garnish with additional finely chopped walnuts if desired.
