Cuban-Style Meatballs

  1. Heat oil in large saucepan on medium-high heat.
  2. Add onions, peppers, garlic and cumin; cook 10 min.
  3. or until tender, stirring frequently.
  4. Spoon 3/4 cup vegetable mixture into blender.
  5. Add tomato sauce; blend until smooth.
  6. Add beans, beer, ham and blended sauce to onion mixture in saucepan; bring to boil.
  7. Mix ground beef, egg and 1/2 cup rice until blended; shape into 12 meatballs.
  8. Carefully add to boiling sauce; cover.
  9. Cook on medium heat 20 to 25 min.
  10. or until meatballs are done (165 degrees F).
  11. Serve with remaining rice.
  12. Top with cheese.
