Updated Whiskey-Ginger Highball

  1. Muddle one slice of ginger with syrup and a bit of ginger beer in the bottom of a highball glass.
  2. Fill glass with ice cubes.
  3. Add rye and stir with a bar spoon.
  4. Add ginger beer to fill.
  5. Run the other slice of ginger around the rim of the glass, then discard.
  6. Twist orange peel over drink to release oils, then drop into glass.
