Norwegian Apple Pie
- 34 cup sugar
- 12 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 12 cup pecan pieces
- 2 egg whites
- 2 apples, sliced & peeled (Roman Beauty or Winesap)
- 1 dash salt
- 1 unbaked pie shell
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Mix sugar, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, pecans, & salt.
- Stir in egg whites.
- Toss in apple slices until well coated.
- Pour mixture into piecrust and bake 30-45 minutes.
- Notes/Variations: To avoid burnt crust, cover crust with foil for first 20-25 minutes of baking.
