Pork Steaks And Sauerkraut Recipe

  1. Brown steaks in shortening on both sides in large skillet.
  2. Remove steaks from skillet.
  3. Add in onion and apple to pan drippings; heat.
  4. Stir in sauerkraut, wine, water, brown sugar, mustard and caraway seed.
  5. Arrange steaks on top.
  6. Sprinkle with salt.
  7. Cover; cook over low heat 30 min or possibly till steaks are almost tender.
  8. Spoon applesauce, if you like, on steaks.
  9. Cover and cook 5 min or possibly till applesauce is heated through and steaks are tender.
  10. Makes 6 servings.
