Portuguese Bean Soup I Recipe
- 1 pound pkg. kidney beans
- 2 ham hocks
- 1 lg. clove garlic
- 1 lg. onion, minced
- 1 tbsp. salt
- Pepper & garlic salt
- 5 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 portuguese sausage (1/2" slices)
- 4 carrots, diced
- 4 potatoes, diced
- 1/2 head cabbage, minced
- Soak beans overnight.
- Drain, cover beans with water about 3 inches above beans.
- Add in next 6 ingredients.
- Bring to a boil and simmer.
- When beans are half done, add in next 3 ingredients; simmer about 2-3 hrs.
- Add in cabbage.
- Remove skin and bone from ham hocks and simmer about 15 min more.
