Boxcar

  1. For the sour mix: Stir together the lemon juice and Simple Syrup in a glass.
  2. For the boxcar: Pour the bourbon into a cocktail shaker.
  3. Add the triple sec and 1 ounce of the sour mix.
  4. Shake for 8 to 10 seconds.
  5. Wet the rim of a cocktail glass by rubbing it with the lemon wedge.
  6. Roll the rim of the glass in sugar to coat.
  7. Strain the shaker into the sugar-rimmed glass.
  8. This cocktail can be served straight up or on the rocks.
  9. Put the sugar and water in a small saucepan.
  10. Cook over low heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves.
  11. (Alternatively, heat in the microwave.)
  12. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
