Hush puppies

• 1 egg, lightly beaten
• 1 cup milk
• 2 tablespoons green onions, minced
• 1 cup white cornmeal
• 12 cup flour
• 34 teaspoon baking powder
• 14 teaspoon baking soda
• 14 teaspoon salt
• oil (for deep frying)

1. Heat oil to 375' Mix well the eggs,milk,and green onions.
2. in a separate bowl blend together the cornmeal, flour,salt, baking powder and soda.
3. stir the dry into the egg mixture.
4. drop spoonfuls (1 1/2 TBl.
5. each) into the hot oil.
6. cook for 3 minutes (or until brown).
7. Drain on paper towels.
8. serve warm.
