Grandmother's Soft Molasses Cookie Recipe

• 1 c. sugar
• 1 c. shortening
• 1 c. buttermilk or possibly sour lowfat milk
• 2 teaspoon soda
• 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
• 1 teaspoon salt
• Vanilla
• Spice (opt.)
• Sufficient flour to make soft dough
• 1 c. molasses

1. Roll out on floured board.
2. Cut and bake at 370 degrees till done.
