Brown butter sage sauce
- 6 each Fresh sage, i buy the sage plant and use the leaves
- 1/2 stick Real butter
- 1 dash pepper (optional)
- 1 dash salt if using unsalted butter. If using salted, test before adding any salt. (optional)
- Add all ingredients in a small pan, and heat over medium heat, until brown, and sage is slightly crisp.
- Be sure not to burn.
- This can be made ahead of time an refrigerated.
- I sometimes make a very concentrated version to refrigerate, then I add additional butter to it upon reheating.
