Grilled Southeast Asian Pork Burgers
- 1 lb ground pork
- 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 2 scallions, roughly chopped
- 2 teaspoons soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons peanut oil
- 14 cup cilantro, roughly chopped (heaping tbsp., if using dried)
- 1 pinch sugar
- 1 pinch hot red chili pepper, ground
- 12 cup roasted peanuts, coarsely ground
- hoisin sauce, to taste
- lettuce leaf
- bread, to serve (cibatta or French bread works great!) or roll, of choice to serve (cibatta or French bread works great!)
- In a large bowl, mix the ground pork with the garlic, scallions, soy sauce, peanut oil, sugar, and ground chili.
- Form into patties and grill until cooked through (it's pork, so don't go rare or anything silly like that).
- Serve each burger with a schmear of hoisin sauce, wrapped in a leaf of lettuce, and sprinkled with peanuts and cilantro on your bread or roll of choice.
