Marinara Sauce
- 5 tomatoes, Large, red, peeled and pureed
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil (canola or sunflower)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 5 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons pesto sauce
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 dash black pepper, ground
- 1 dash salt
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 3 teaspoons parmesan cheese, grated
- Stir-Fry onions and garlic in vegetable oil until translucent.
- Add pesto sauce and continue stirring until it sizzles and becomes aromatic.
- Add in the pureed tomato and the rest of the seasonings (oregano, pepper, salt, paprika).
- Bring to a boil then leave to simmer about 5 minutes.
- After reaching the desired consistency, stir in the cheese until it is completely dissolved.
- Use directly, store in fridge for 3 days, or store frozen for up to 1 month.
