BBQ Flank Steak & Sweet Potato Fries

  1. Mix whiskey and 1/4 cup barbecue sauce until blended.
  2. Heat oil in small saucepan on medium heat.
  3. Add onions; cook and stir 2 min.
  4. or until lightly browned.
  5. Add barbecue sauce mixture; cook 3 min., stirring frequently.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Add ice and remaining barbecue sauce; stir.
  8. Let stand 5 min.
  9. ; stir until ice is completely melted.
  10. Score steak on both sides with shallow cross cuts; place in shallow dish.
  11. Pour barbecue sauce mixture over steak; turn to evenly coat both sides of steak.
  12. Refrigerate 4 hours to marinate, turning after 2 hours.
  13. Heat oven to 400F and heat grill to medium heat.
  14. Bake fries in oven as directed on package.
  15. Meanwhile, remove steak from marinade; discard marinade.
  16. Grill steak 5 min.
  17. on each side or until medium doneness.
  18. Remove steak from grill; place on cutting board.
  19. Let stand 3 min.
  20. Cut steak across the grain into thin slices.
  21. Serve with the fries.
