Great for Bentos too! Vegetable and Pork Rolls Marinated in Nanban Sauce
- 1 whatever you have Thinly sliced pork meat (belly, roast, thigh)
- 1/2 plus Carrot
- 1 as much (to taste) Green beans (Frozen is OK )
- 1/2 plus Onion
- 1 Katakuriko
- 1 dash Vegetable oil (not necessary if using pork belly meat)
- 4 1/2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 3 tbsp Vinegar
- 3 tbsp Water
- 1 1/2 tbsp Sugar
- Finely chop the carrots, and cut the green beans in half.
- Mix together in a bowl to prepare the marinade.
- Thinly slice the onions.
- Heat a little vegetable oil (not listed), add in the onions, saute, and marinate in the sauce.
- Wrap the vegetables in the thinly sliced meat.
- Lightly coat with katakuriko after rolling.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, line up the rolls from step 5 with the overlap facing down, and cook until golden brown over low medium heat while rolling them around.
- After cooking the rolls, toss in the marinade from step 2 while still hot, and lightly mix together.
- Let them marinate for a while...
- Done!
