CERTO Sour Cherry Freezer Jam

  1. Rinse clean plastic containers and lids with boiling water.
  2. Dry thoroughly.
  3. Remove and discard stems and pits from cherries.
  4. Finely chop or grind cherries.
  5. Measure exactly 1-3/4 cups prepared fruit into large bowl.
  6. Gradually add sugar, stirring until well blended.
  7. Let stand 10 min., stirring occasionally.
  8. Mix pectin and lemon juice in small bowl.
  9. Add to prepared fruit mixture in large bowl; stir 3 min.
  10. or until most of the sugar is dissolved and no longer grainy.
  11. (A few sugar crystals may remain.)
  12. Fill all containers immediately to within 1/2 inch of tops.
  13. Wipe off top edges of containers; immediately cover with lids.
  14. Let stand at room temperature 24 hours.
  15. Jam is now ready to use.
  16. Store in refrigerator up to 3 weeks or freeze extra containers up to 1 year.
  17. If frozen, thaw in refrigerator.
