Blondie's Aunt Grace's Wilted Lettuce Salad
- 8 cup torn leaf lettuce
- 1 hard cooked egg, finely chopped
- 1/8 tsp salt (I use a bit less, as I'm not a person who loves salt)
- 2 tbsp water
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- 3 tbsp cider vinegar
- 1 dash of pepper to taste
- 4 slice bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces (sometimes I use 5 pieces)
- In a large bowl, combine lettuce and egg.
- In a skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp.
- Add remaining ingredients to bacon and drippings; bring to a boil and cook for 1/2 minute longer.
- Pour over lettuce; cover bowl for 1/2 minute.
- Toss and serve immediately.
