Mojito
- 5 fresh mint leaves plus a few extra for garnish
- 1 1/4 -ounces simple syrup, equal amounts of sugar and water, heated until the sugar dissolves
- 1/2 lime cut into quarters
- 1 1/2 ounces Bacardi rum
- Club soda, or seltzer
- Sugar cane stalks for garnish
- In the bottom of a highball glass, muddle together 5 fresh mint leaves, 1 1/4-ounces of simple syrup, 1/2 lime, quartered.
- Add the Bacardi rum.
- Top with club soda or seltzer to fill.
- Garnish with mint leaves and a branch of sugar cane.
