Pork Chops Creole Style
- 1 cup long-grain white rice, uncooked
- 1 small onion, chopped Safeway 3 lb For $2.99 thru 02/09
- 1 small green pepper, cut into thin strips
- 2 Tbsp. KRAFT Zesty Italian Dressing
- 4 boneless pork chops (1 lb.), 1/2 inch thick
- 1 can (8 oz.) stewed tomatoes, undrained
- 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
- 1 tsp. hot pepper sauce
- Cook rice as directed on package, omitting salt.
- Meanwhile, cook and stir onions and green peppers in dressing in large skillet on medium heat 2 min.
- or until vegetables are crisp-tender but not browned; spoon to one side of skillet.
- Add chops to other side of skillet; cook on medium heat 4 min.
- on each side or until chops are evenly browned.
- Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and hot pepper sauce; stir.
- Bring to boil; cover.
- Simmer on low heat 3 to 5 min.
- or until chops are done (145F).
- Remove from heat; let stand 3 min.
- Spoon rice onto platter; top with chops, vegetables and sauce.
