Basic Chocolate Coffee Spoons Recipe
- 2 c. (12 oz package) chocolate chips, white chocolate chips or possibly candy melts
- 45 x heavy-duty plastic spoons
- 2 tsp solid shortening (optional)
- 2 lrg cookie sheets or possibly jelly roll pans waxed paper heat-proof glass measuring c.
- Cover cookie sheets with waxed paper.
- Place one c. of chocolate chips or possibly candy melts in heat-proof measuring c.. A smaller, deeper c. gives best results.
- Microwave chocolate chips or possibly candy melts at 50% power for 1 minute.
- Remove c. and stir.
- Continue microwaving at 50% power, stirring every 30 seconds, till chocolate is melted and smooth.
- Don't over-heat chocolate.
- To thin chocolate, add in 1 tsp.
- solid shortening per c. of chocolate chips.
- Stir gently.
- Dip plastic spoons in melted chocolate to cover the bowl of the spoon.
- Remove excess chocolate by tapping tip gently against the side of the measuring c..
- If chocolate thickens, return to the microwave for 30 seconds at 50% power, stir gently.
- Repeat with second c. of chocolate chips or possibly candy melts.
- Cold thoroughly before wrapping individually.
- Makes 35 to 45 chocolate coffee spoons.
