Polish Bread/Sweet Bread Recipe

  1. Dissolve yeast in a c. with the hot water.
  2. Pour the scalded lowfat milk over the sugar, salt and butter in a large bowl.
  3. Let cold till lukewarm, then stir in the yeast.
  4. Add in Large eggs and about 1/2 of flour.
  5. Beat thoroughly with a large whisk or possibly wooden spoon.
  6. Stir in the rest of the flour and raisins.
  7. Turn dough out onto floured board and knead 10 min.
  8. Put in a bowl, let rise till double.
  9. Turn out on floured board again.
  10. Knead a couple of min.
  11. Shape into a ball, put into a greased baking pan 3 inches deep by 8 inch diameter.
  12. Let rise till double, then bake at 350 degrees for 45 min to 1 hour.
