Deluxe Chocolate Layer Cake

  1. Sift together cake flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. Combine chocolate, milk and butter in saucepan.
  2. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens (about 10 minutes).
  3. Remove from heat; cool to room temperature.
  4. Beat eggs in mixing bowl until thickened, using electric mixer at high speed.
  5. Gradually add sugar, beating until mixture is very thick and lemon colored.
  6. Beat in vanilla.
  7. Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream to egg mixture, beating well after each addition.
  8. Blend in chocolate mixture, beating at medium speed 2 minutes.
  9. Pour batter into 3 greased and waxed paper-lined 8-inch round cake pans.
  10. Bake in a 350u0b0 oven for 35 minutes or until cakes test done.
  11. Cool in pans on racks 10 minutes.
  12. Remove from pans.
  13. Cool on racks.
