Sweet and Spicy Braised Pork Belly with Daikon Radish
- 200 grams Thick sliced pork belly
- 1/3 Daikon radish
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 slightly less than 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 1 tbsp Sake (or cooking sake)
- 2 to 3 tablespoons Water
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- 1 Ginger
- 1/2 Red chili
- Cut the pork belly into bite size pieces and fry in a pan.
- Cut the daikon into about the same thickness (about 1.5 cm) quarter rounds as the pork and fry together with pork.
- Fry until the daikon is browned (nice and crispy).
- Grate the ginger and combine with other sauce ingredients (Do not use too much red chili.
- It might be too spicy.)
- Pour over the combined the Step 4 sauce ingredients into the pan.
- Cook for a while until the daikon is tender (add water if necessary).
- When the daikon is tender, it is done.
- Very nice with rice!
- Boil eggs together with it and it will be good!
