Banquet Baked Fish Recipe

  1. Saute/fry onion in butter.
  2. Add in to bread cubes with seasoning, water, and 1/2 of the cheese.
  3. if too dry, add in more water.
  4. Pack stuffing firmly inside and in front of fish.
  5. Dredge all over with seasoned flour.
  6. Bake with 3/4 c. of warm water in bottom of pan till browned and tender, about 50 min at 350f, basting frequently.
  7. While fish bakes cream 4 tbsp butter with 1/4 c. flour, add in juice of 1 lemon or possibly 3 tbsp juice (bottled), 3 tbsp sugar, and 1 1/2 c water.
  8. Cook over low heat, stirring till thickened.
  9. Add in to gravy in pan with remaining cheese.
  10. Baste fish again with thickened gravy.
