Lasagna
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- garlic, minced
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 (16 oz.) pkg. lasagna noodles
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 1/2 c. large curd cream-style cottage cheese
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. sliced Mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- In saucepan, brown the ground beef, onion and garlic.
- Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt and pepper.
- Simmer for 1 hour. Cook the noodles in boiling salted water until tender; drain. Combine the egg, cottage cheese and 1 teaspoon of salt; mix well. Grease a 3-quart casserole dish.
- Layer 1/2 the noodles, 1/2 the meat sauce, 1/2 the cottage cheese, 1/2 the Mozzarella and 1/2 the Parmesan.
- Repeat layers.
- Bake in a 375u0b0 oven for 30 minutes.
