Chinese Marinated Steak
- 1 1/2 teaspoons canola oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 1 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 1/2 tablespoons red-wine vinegar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic in oil
- 12 ounces boneless sirloin steak, 3/4 inch thick
- Combine oil, soy sauce, maple syrup, vinegar, ginger and garlic.
- Trim the external fat from the beef and cut into slices 3/4 inch thick.
- Marinate beef in mixture until it is time to cook it.
- Remove steaks from marinade and reserve the marinade.
- Prepare stove-top grill or preheat broiler.
- Grill or broil beef about 5 minutes, turning once or twice and brushing with marinade each time.
