Caveman Drums

  1. HEAT the oven to 350F.
  2. MAKE two 3-drum foil packs for easy handling.
  3. For each pack, place three drumsticks on a sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil large enough to seal tightly.
  4. DRIZZLE 1 tablespoon of the oil over each pack of drumsticks, coating the skin until its shiny.
  5. Sprinkle all sides of the drums with 2 teaspoons of the dry rub per foil pack.
  6. SEAL the two packs and place them on a large rimmed baking sheet.
  7. Roast the turkey for 1 1/2 hours, or until tender.
  8. Unwrap the packs and discard the juice.
  9. HEAT the broiler.
  10. If saucing, brush the drumsticks with barbecue sauce before broiling.
  11. To crisp the skin, broil the drumsticks 4 inches from the heat source for about 5 minutes per side.
