Newport Snap
- 2 ounces pink gin, preferably Rogue
- 3/4 ounce Simple Syrup
- 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
- Ice
- 1/2 ounce Pinot Noir or other light, fruity red wine
- In a cocktail shaker, combine the gin, Simple Syrup and lemon juice.
- Fill the shaker with ice and shake well.
- Strain into a chilled ice-filled rocks glass and float the wine on top, slowly pouring it over the back of a bar spoon near the drink's surface.
