High Octane Martini

  1. Place about 6 small ice cubes in a metal shaker.
  2. Pour in the vodka and vermouth and shake for at least 30 seconds.
  3. The longer you shake, the more water will mix into the drink, as the ice cubes melt.
  4. Shaking for less than 30 seconds will produce a drink that is too powerful, with the alcohol overpowering the taste of the pepper.
  5. Strain into a 4 ounce cocktail glass and drop in 1 or 2 jalapeno stuffed olives.
  6. Any olive brine still dripping from the olive(s) will add to the taste complexity of the drink.
  7. *If you don't have pepper vodka, such as Absolut Peppar, you can substitute regular vodka and add a couple of dashes of Tabasco sauce.
