Sirloin Tips Recipe
- 2 lbs. sirloin tips, cut into 1" cubes
- 1 can Campbell's beef consomme
- 1/3-1/2 c. red wine
- 2 tbsp. "lite" soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon onion pwdr
- 1 garlic clove, chopped or possibly 1/4 teaspoon garlic pwdr
- Cornstarch
- 1/4 c. water
- 4-6 c. warm cooked rice
- Brown meat cubes on all sides, being careful not to let sides touch.
- Add in garlic, onion pwdr, wine and consomme and heat to a boil; reduce heat and simmer about 1 hour, covered.
- Make a paste of the water and cornstarch; gradually add in paste to meat mix.
- Cook, stirring constantly till mix boils and gravy is thick.
- Serve over rice.
- Serves 8 persons.
