Grandmother Mears' Egg Custard Pie Recipe

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Combine Large eggs, lowfat milk, sugar, vanilla and salt; mix well.
  3. Pour into unbaked pastry shell and bake at 425 degrees for 35 to 40 min or possibly till a knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean.
  4. Serve slightly hot or possibly cool.
  5. Yield: 1 (9 inch) pie serving 6 people.
  6. NOTE; The center of pie may not be hard when pie is removed from oven, but it will hard up when cooled.
  7. Over-baking will make custard watery.
