Japanese-Style Pot-Au-Feu (Stew)
- 1/4 Cabbage
- 2 Potatoes
- 1 Carrot
- 1 Onion
- 20 grams Bacon
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tsp Salt
- 5 grams Dashi stock granules
- 2 tbsp Mirin
- 1 amount to cover the ingredients Water
- 1 Chopped parsley (if you have any)
- 1 Coarsely ground black pepper (optional)
- Cut the vegetables and bacon into bite-sized pieces.
- Put them into a pot and pour enough water to cover the ingredients.
- Turn on the heat.
- Add the seasonings and turn down the heat when it comes to a boil.
- Simmer over low heat until the ingredients are soft.
- Taste and adjust the saltiness as necessary.
- Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with parsley.
- If you like, serve with coarsely ground black pepper.
