Stuffed Pasta Shells
- 1 lb. jumbo pasta shells
- 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese
- 1 lb. ground beef round
- 1/2 lb. bulk Italian sausage
- 2/3 c. soft bread crumbs
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
- 1 egg, beaten
- salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 4 c. Italian tomato sauce
- 3/4 c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Cook shells in salted boiling water for 10 minutes.
- Drain and rinse.
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Dice half Mozzarella cheese; slice the rest.
- In large skillet, brown ground round and sausage and drain off grease.
- Add bread crumbs, milk, parsley, egg and diced Mozzarella cheese to the meat and mix well.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Fill cooked shells with meat mixture.
- Place half tomato sauce in a shallow 3-quart baking dish.
- Place stuffed shells in dish; top with remaining sauce and sliced Mozzarella. Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
- Serve with Parmesan cheese.
