Cornbread Sausage Dressing With Apples And Pecans
- 1 lb. bulk pork sausage
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. chopped celery
- 2 c. chopped Granny Smith apples (unpeeled)
- 1 c. coarsely chopped pecans
- 5 c. cornbread, crumbled
- 5 c. biscuits, crumbled (homemade biscuits)
- 2 tsp. sage
- 1/2 tsp. thyme
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 c. chopped parsley
- 4 c. chicken broth
- Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
- Grease
- a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish or pan.
- Cook sausage, onion and celery in skillet until sausage is brown and vegetables are tender.
- In large mixing bowl, combine sausage and vegetable mixture with remaining ingredients.
- Stir gently.
- Spoon into prepared baking dish.
- Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until golden brown.
- Makes 10 to 12 servings.
